The Players On Tour Have Spoken

Last week, I talked about the new schedule changes for this year on the PGA Tour and how some players may decide to skip some notable tournaments. This week at the Honda Classic, we got our answer.

It seems as though players have decided to skip this week and instead play the Arnold Palmer Invitational the following week instead. The field this week is definitely weaker compared to previous years, considering this is one of my favourite tournaments on tour, it is a bit disappointing.

I enjoy this tournament a lot because of how difficult the course plays, statistically PGA National Golf Club is one of the toughest courses on tour. Not to mention that with one shot into the water, the whole leaderboard can change, the Bear Trap is no walk in the park either.

Notable players such as DJ, Rory, Tiger, and Rose have decided to skip this tournament. This is still a solid field, however in years past these guys would have played this week, but with the Players Championship in a few weeks I can see why this may not be a priority to them.

Anyways, I am looking forward to this weeks tournament as well as the next few weeks on tour!

Will you be watching the Honda Classic this week? What are your thoughts on these players skipping this tournament? Let’s discuss in the comments section below!

  1. Hey Sebastien, Ernie Els and Vijay Singh made the cut. It’s not the youngest or deepest field but I’ll look in this weekend. What’s not to like!
