The Tour Championship kicks off tomorrow which means Sunday someone will be walking away with the FedEx Cup trophy. I have been waiting to talk about this for over a month now, and I believe this is the best time to do so. Sharing this before Tiger tees off so people don’t think my thoughts on him change if he were to win this week.
I wanted to look back on Tiger’s season and take the time to reflect back on it. The most important thing is, whether you love him or hate him, you have to give him credit…I don’t think anyone gave him a chance this year.
He has managed to climb up to 20th in the FedEx Cup rankings and has one more chance this week to get himself his first win of the year.
Tiger has managed to finish 2nd twice and place inside the top 10 another six times, not too bad considering we didn’t even know if he could finish a golf tournament at the beginning of the year.
To really summarize his progress and comeback, Tiger has gone from 668th in the world to start the year all the way up to 21st currently.
What I’m trying to say is, Tiger Woods is back.
I started golfing because of this man, and it’s great to see him back in contention after all of these years waiting and waiting. Whether you like him or not you gotta appreciate what he does for the sport, there’s really nothing like seeing Tiger in contention on a Sunday.
I can’t wait until next year, I don’t think he can either.
