Dell Technologies Championship Picks

Dell Technologies Championship Picks

We have now arrived at the Dell Technologies Championship which is the second tournament of the FexEx Cup playoffs. Last week, Bryson DeChambeau was able to capture his second win of the season while most likely solidifying himself as one of Jim Furyk’s captain’s picks for the Ryder Cup. This week is important, as three of the four captain’s picks will be announced on September 4th meaning this is one of the final opportunities for players on the bubble to make a case for themselves to be on the Ryder Cup team. Just a reminder, points are inflated in the playoffs, so the winner will receive 2000 FedEx Cup points rather than the normal 500. Anyways, let’s get into my picks for this weeks Dell Technologies Championship!

Tony Finau – 28/1
I feel as though I pick Finau every week, but for good reason…he has been spectacular this year. Finau finished second last week to DeChambeau, to go along with last week he has finished inside the top 10 in three of the four majors this year, not bad at all. Like I mentioned earlier, this is the last week before Furyk makes three of his four captain’s picks so Finau needs a good showing to be one of them, I say he has one this week.

Adam Scott – 28/1
Likely one of the most popular picks this week, but that is because Scott has been fantastic the past two weeks. After finishing third at the PGA Championship, Scott followed that up with a fifth-place finish at last weeks The Northern Trust. Scott has struggled this year, there is no hiding that, but it appears he is on one of those hot streaks and there is no better time to be on one than in the playoffs.

Hideki Matsuyama – 33/1
Hideki has struggled this year, but the past two weeks he has given us signs that he has turned his game around. It is misleading, but Hideki has finished inside the top 20 in five of his last eight tournaments and has placed inside the top 15 in his last two. I will throw this out there, but I do believe Hideki will win one of these final three playoff events, his game has drastically improved as of late and he can compete with anyone in the world when he is at his best.

Zach Johnson – 75/1
Zach has quietly put together a solid season, in his last eight events he has finished inside the top 20 in six of them, not bad for the veteran. I believe Johnson could also be one of Furyk’s captain’s picks, if it were to come down to picking another veteran it would be either him or Kuchar (Tiger will already be picked), so a good showing may get the job done. If anything, Johnson is a guy who will make cuts, and who knows what can happen on the weekend.

There you have it, my picks for this weeks Dell Technologies Championship. After this week, the field gets cuts down to 70, meaning this is the final cut event of the season. Like I say every single week, if none of these guys can contend then I will be rooting for Tiger. Speaking of Tiger, I think he will be in contention on Sunday, he putted terribly last week but if you go back to all of the events that he did (like the Wells Fargo Championship), he bounced back the following week. Don’t be surprised if you see him in it come Sunday.

Who do you have winning this weeks Dell Technologies Championship? Also, who do you think are Jim Furyk’s captain’s picks? Let’s discuss in the comment section below!
